Working with some new paintings – pairing previously existing elements such as grid and color field as opposites together with some opposites such as in color (such as the yellow and violet for example). In the 24 x 24″ work with the violet grid allowing the symbolic essence of violet to come through – many see violet relating to creativity. The grid captured as a surprise.

The other day while visiting Chandler Fine Arts (SF) for a framing need, entered into a discussion of boundaries. Realizing there are boundaries set up in the visual arts and began to work with them…you can perhaps see the division between the two segments of a couple of works imaged here. Thinking about “two dissimilar organisms” symbiotically placed – yes, art about art yet relating to life and experience. The entire series presents ‘varieties of seeing’ across multiple small canvases along with some works on paper of which only a few pictured in this post. Here I am just presenting the ones with maximum yellow.
