About this work:
This work is from a group of works I did during the fall, winter and early Spring of 2009. In this set I used a more limited palette and like nature in the spring, allowed the forms to apparently emerge. The idea of “pieces” gives the sense that these are part or the beginnings of the new. Wallace Stevens poem “13 blackbirds” gives me the titles for this series of works.

This is the second painting that is currently on view right now in San francisco. It is at the Open Studios Exhibtion at SoMarts. SF is divided and grouped into neighborhoods and then each group has a weekend. This is a good time to visit the studio which will be open Oct 24 and 25 from 11-5.
